2022 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates is free of malpractice

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has called on directors of education, supervisors and invigilators to take extra precautionary measures to ensure that this year’s West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) for School Candidates is free of malpractice.

The service urged candidates also to be conscious of activities which had the potential of undermining the integrity of the examination.

Conduct

A statement signed by the Head of Public Relations Unit of the GES, Cassandra Twum Ampofo, said management of the service “has worked very closely with West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to ensure the smooth conduct of the examination throughout the country.

“Candidates are encouraged to prepare well and strive for independent work and depend on their individual abilities.

Candidates should also be mindful of the implications of misconduct during the examination which could lead to suspension and or cancellation of results and the negative impact that development might have on their future prospects,” it said.

Players

It said management stood by all the key players in the administration and conduct of the examination and urged all to work together to protect the integrity of the examination.

The statement congratulated the 422,883 candidates writing the examination on their fortitude and hard work so far and expressed its profound gratitude to the teachers, heads of schools, directors of education, parents, guardians and other stakeholders for the crucial roles they had played so far in preparing the candidates for the examination.
